Free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic will reportedly sign forManchester United before Sweden kick off their UEFA Euro 2016 campaign on June 13.
The former Paris Saint-Germain forward’s deal isn’t across the line just yet, although Sky Sports revealed that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and representatives of Ibrahimovic are finalising terms
The report states that the 34-year-old is set to sign a one-year contract at Old Trafford, and it’s safe to say that he still has plenty to offer at the highest level despite his age.
Ibrahimovic scored 38 Ligue 1 goals and set up 13 more for PSG last term according to WhoScored.com, with his explosive performances and dynamic skills defying his years.
How big a role Ibrahimovic will play for United next season has been questioned, but it seems new manager Jose Mourinho is satisfied with his front line.
Sky Sports reports that the Portuguese boss thinks English starlet Marcus Rashford is going to kick on to bigger and better things next season, and Ibrahimovic will only aid his development.
In fact, he’s so convinced of Rashford’s potential that he seemingly passed up the chance to trigger Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy’s release clause of around £20 million.
Still, it’s landing the Swede that’ll boost United’s chances of winning the Premier League title according to Mourinho, and he certainly has a habit of winning leagues—via Sky Sports News HQ:
His experience combined with his undoubted genius will give the previously goal-shy United a new dimension in 2016/17, and fans will be nothing but optimistic about his arrival.
Bringing Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford won’t automatically solve all of United’s problems, though, and with that in mind, Mourinho is reportedly looking to add Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic to his ranks.

Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News writes that the Portuguese manager wants to reconstruct the spine of United’s setup, and Pjanic is the ideal man to lead the charge.
The Bosnian can play as an anchor in midfield or press on, with his versatility clearly catching Mourinho’s eye.
Despite the fact that United failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season, it’s still an exciting time to be a Red Devils fan.
Ibrahimovic will be a lot more than a shirt seller, and with Mourinho at the helm, anything is possible.
